Building an equity investment portfolio using methods of decision theory

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je sestavit investiční portfolio z akciových titulů pro dva typy investorů. První z nich preferuje kapitálový výnos, druhý dividendový. V prvním kroku je aplikována metoda ELECTRE I, na základě které dochází k vyhodnocení efektivních variant. Z těchto efektivních variant je v druhém kroku pomocí metody agregace účelových funkcí sestaveno výsledné portfolio. Na závěr práce jsou porovnána výsledná portfolia obou investorů. Praktické části předchází teoretická část, jejiž první úsek je věnován teoretickému popisu finančního a kapitálového trhu, následuje charakteristika cenných papírů a základní informace o akciích. Druhý úsek pojednává o burzovním trhu a burzovních indexech. Závěrečný úsek teoretické části pojednává o vícekriteriálním rozhodování. Jsou zde objasněny základní pojmy. Následuje teoretické objasnění použitých metod v této práci.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to build an equity investment portfolio for two types of investors. The first of them prefers capital gain, the other one dividend yield. In the first step, the ELECTRE I method is applied, on which basis effective variants are evaluated. From these efficient variants, the resulting portfolio is compiled using aggregation objective function. At the conclusion of the work the resulting portfolios of both investors are compared. The practical part is preceded by a theoretical part, which first section is devoted to the theoretical description of the financial and capital market, followed by the characteristics of the securities and the basic information about the shares. The second section deals with the stock market and stock market indexes. The final section of the theoretical part deals with multi-criteria decision-making where the basic concepts are explained. The work continues with clarifying a theoretical framework of used methods.
