Abstract:

Tato práce zkoumá mediální reprezentaci ženy v klasických ženských časopisech Vlasta a Femme Actuelle v průběhu roku 2008. Soustředí se na způsoby jakými je žena v českém a francouzském ženském magazínu zobrazována. Jaké rolové konstrukce ženám časopisy přisuzují a s jakými charakteristikami je spojují. Jak je v obou časopisech reflektováno mateřství. Jaké editoriální strategie oba časopisy k reprezentaci ženy užívají a jaká témata svému publiku předkládají. Hlavním analytickým nástrojem výzkumu je obsahová analýza, doplňující analýzu představuje metoda interpretativního čtení. Tato práce je první ucelenou komparativní analýzou zabývající se mediální reprezentací ženy v české a francouzském prostředí.

Abstract:

This dissertation examines the media representation of a woman in traditional women’s magazines Vlasta and Femme Actuelle for the period of 2008. The dissertation focuses on the way in which women are pictured in a Czech and French woman’s magazine. What kind of role constructions are attributed to women in those magazines and what kind of characteristics are they associated with. It also focuses on the way in which maternity is reflected. What kind of editorial strategies are used in both magazines for the representation of a woman and what kind of topics are brought to the reader. The main analytical instrument of the research is the Content Analysis supplemented by Interpretative Reading Method. This dissertation is the first comprehensive comparative analysis concerned with the media representation of a woman in Czech and French environment.
