Influence of pAPC protein on the tumor formation.

Abstract:

Protein APC je významný nádorový supresor, který se účastní mnoha buněčných procesů a interakcí s proteiny. Podílí se především na transdukci signálu v rámci Wnt signální dráhy, proliferaci buněk související s jejich obnovou a stabilizaci cytoskeletu. Somatické a zárodečné mutace v genu APC způsobují strukturální změny proteinu APC a negativně ovlivňují jeho funkci, což je doprovázeno výrazným zvýšením rizika rakoviny, především tlustého střeva a konečníku.

Abstract:

APC protein is an important tumor suppressor which is involved in many cellular processes and interactions with proteins. It is primarily involved in signal transduction within the Wnt-signaling pathway, cell proliferation associated with the renewal of cells and stabilization of the cytoskeleton. Somatic and germline mutations in the APC gene cause structural changes of the protein APC and negatively affect its function, which is accompanied by a significant increase of the risk of cancer, especially of colon and rectum.
