Model for demonstrating of Lenz's law

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem a konstrukcí výukového zařízení pro demonstraci Lenzova zákona pomocí dvojice experimentů. Jedná se o experiment s permanentními magnety volně padajícími nemagnetickou elektricky vodivou trubicí a o kyvadlo s vířivými proudy, tzv. Waltenhofenovo kyvadlo. První část podává podrobný rozbor vybraných experimentů včetně odvození zjednodušených matematicko-fyzikálních modelů, které jsou v závěru práce porovnány s reálnými průběhy experimentů. Ve druhé části je konkrétně popsán návrh a konstrukce zařízení, které pomocí jednoduchého měřícího systému umožňuje rychlý sběr dat z průběhu experimentů. Zařízeni je koncipováno jako výuková pomůcka, kterou lze použít k praktickým cvičením v rámci předmětů zabývajících se elektromagnetismem. V závěru práce jsou stručně prezentovány výsledky FEM simulací pro vizualizaci jevů probíhajících při experimentech.

Abstract:

This Diploma thesis deals with the design and construction of a teaching device for the demonstration of Lenz's law using a pair of experiments. It is an experiment with permanent magnets freely falling through a non-magnetic electrically conductive tube and a pendulum with eddy currents, the so-called Waltenhofen pendulum. The first part provides a detailed analysis of selected experiments, including the derivation of simplified mathematical-physical models, which are compared with the real experiments at the end of the thesis. In the second part, the design and construction of the device is specifically described, which, with the help of a simple measuring system, enables the collection of data from the experiments. The device is designed as a teaching aid that can be used for practical lectures in subjects dealing with electromagnetism. At the end of the work there are results of FEM simulations visualizing the examined phenomena taking place during the experiments.
