Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is an English-Czech translation of the first chapter of the novel White Teeth by Zadie Smith and the analysis of dialects used in chosen parts of the book. The thesis consists of a practical part containing the translation and a theoretical part containing the analysis of the translation with special regard to Jamaican and Cockney dialects.
