Design for playing cards

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá výrobou, designem a historií herních karet a karetních her. Pro můj design karet jsem se rozhodl inspirovat barvami z prvních karet na našem území vůbec. Tudíž výcházím z latinského zobrazování, doplněném o mé vlastní ilustrace ve středověkém stylu. Rozměr karet jsem převzal z nejběžnějšího systému u nás, a to z klasických mariášových karet (92×100mm). Jako techniku, kterou budu výslednou práci zpracovávat jsem si vybral techniku sítotisku. Výsledkem mé bakalářské práce je originální balíček hracích karet s neokoukaným designem a krabička ve které jsou karty uloženy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the production, design, and history of gaming cards and card games. My card design is inspired from the colors of the first cards ever made in our territory. Therefore, I am basing my design on the Latin depiction, supplemented by my own illustrations in a medieval style. I have adopted the dimensions of the most common system in our country, namely the classic Mariáš cards (92×100mm). As the technique to process the final work, I chose the technique of screen printing. The result of my bachelor thesis is an original deck of playing cards with an unconventional design, and a box in which the cards are stored.
