Knowledge of General nurses for the treatment and communication of the blind and visually impaired

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá připraveností všeobecných sester v oblasti komunikace s nevidomými a zrakově postiženými. Teoretická část popisuje typy zrakového postižení, úvod do komunikace, kde je představena její verbální i neverbální část. Dále se soustředí na komunikaci se znevýhodněným pacientem, jejíž hlavní částí je přímo komunikace s pacientem s poruchou zraku. Poslední část teorie tvoří přehled kompenzačních pomůcek. Ve výzkumné části jsou zpracovány výsledky dotazníkového šetření, které zjišťují povědomí všeobecných sester o problematice zrakově postižených, jejich zkušenosti a míru připravenosti pro ošetřování těchto klientů.

Abstract:

This bachelor degree thesis deals with the preparedness of general nurses in the sphere of communication with blind and visually impaired people. The theoretical part describes individual types of visual impairment and contains an introduction to the issues of communication, whose verbal as well as non-verbal aspects are presented here. It also focuses on communication with a disadvantaged patient, especially on communication with a visually impaired patient. The last chapter of the theoretical part offers the reader an overview of compensatory aids. In the practical part, the results of a questionnaire survey are processed. The surfy investigates the general nurses' awareness of the problems of visually impaired people, their experience and the level of preparedness for nursing these clients.
