Dynamics of changes in the Elbe in the vicinity of Lysá nad Labem from the 18th century up to the present

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo rekonstruovat vývoj podoby toku řeky Labe v území mezi Čelákovicemi a Mydlovarským luhem v pěti časových horizontech od 18. století do současnosti, a to na základě intepretace obrazových a kartografických pramenů. Vývoj toku Labe byl sledován přímo také v přírodní rezervaci Mydlovarský luh, kde se nachází několik odstavených meandrů, jako pozůstatků činnosti řeky. Autorka se pokusila určit jejich relativní stáří vůči sobě, mj. na základě principu superpozice. Na základě toho byl posléze stanoven pravděpodobný průběh vodního toku v daných fázích vývoje. První část práce je věnována vymezení nivy na základě pedologických, geologických map a map formačních skupin biotopů. Ve druhé části jsou zhodnoceny změny tvaru říčního koryta Labe ve zkoumaném úseku. Dá se říci, že Labe až do 30. let 20. století disponovalo velkým množstvím zákrutů a meandrů. V souvislosti s tím také Labe mění svou délku. Třetí část je pak věnována terénnímu výzkumu v přírodní rezervaci Mydlovarský luh. Ten byl doplňován prací s DMR 5G snímky. Výzkum v terénu ukázal, že dochované odstavené meandry jsou pozůstatkem několika stádií vývoje podoby koryta. Řeka v tomto úseku překládala koryta postupně od severu na jih, patrně vlivem povodňových usazenin a možná také vlivem mladých tektonických pohybů

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to reconstruct the development of the flow of the Elbe River in the area between Čelákovice and Mydlovarský luh in five time horizons from the 18th century to the present day, based on the interpretation of pictorial and cartographic sources. The development of the Elbe flow was also directly monitored in the Mydlovarský luh nature reserve, where there are several closed meanders, as remnants of the river's activity. The author tried to determine their relative age to each other, based on the principle of superposition, among other things. Based on this, the probable course of the water flow in the given stages of development was subsequently determined. The first part of the work is devoted to the definition of the floodplain based on pedological, geological maps and maps of formation groups of biotopes. In the second part, changes in the shape of the Elbe riverbed in the investigated section are evaluated. It can be said that until the 1930s, the Elbe had a large number of bends and meanders. In connection with this, the Elbe also changes its length. The third part is dedicated to field research in the Mydlovarský luh nature reserve. This was complemented by work with DMR 5G images. Research in the field has shown that the preserved shut-off meanders are the remnants of several stages of the development of the bed form. In this section, the river shifted its beds gradually from north to south, probably due to flood deposits and possibly also due to young tectonic movements.
