Brownfields and their revitalization with the main focus on the revitalization of Masaryk Railway Station

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce, se zabývá problematikou brownfieldů a jejich revitalizací, se zaměřením na revitalizaci Masarykova nádraží v Praze. Práce je složena ze dvou částí. V první, teoretické části se práce zabývá vymezením pojmu brownfield, historií této problematiky, možnostmi dělení brownfieldů, příčinami vzniku těchto objektů a jednotlivými přístupy k revitalizaci. V této části práce jsou dále popsány možnosti financování revitalizací a souhrnně celkový průběh procesu revitalizace. V druhé, praktické části se práce zaměřuje na konkrétní projekt a tím je revitalizace Masarykova nádraží v Praze. Nejprve je nastíněna charakteristika a historie sledovaného území a dále je pokračováno popisem postupu revitalizace území, popisem změn územního plánu, je zde zahrnuta SWOT analýza území a v neposlední řadě obsahuje rozhovor s odborníkem z Institutu plánování a rozvoje hl. m. Prahy, který se vyjadřuje k problematickým otázkám a poskytuje vysvětlení týkající se projektu revitalizace sledovaného brownfieldu ze svého úhlu pohledu.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis concentrates on the issue of brownfields and their revitalization, with the main focus on the revitalization of Masaryk Railway Station in Prague. The thesis is developed in two parts. In the first theoretical part, the thesis deals with the definition of the term brownfield, the history of this issue, the possibilities of dividing brownfields, the causes of the origin of these objects, and individual approaches to revitalization. This part of the thesis further describes the opportunities of financing revitalizations and summarizes the overall course of the revitalization process. In the second practical part, the thesis focuses on a specific project, the revitalization of Masaryk Railway Station in Prague. First, the characteristics and history of the monitored area are outlined, followed by a description of the area revitalization process, a description of changes to the zoning plan, and a SWOT analysis of the area. Last but not least, the thesis presents an interview with an expert from the Institute of Planning and Development of the capital city of Prague, who comments on problematic issues and provides an explanation regarding the project of revitalization of the monitored brownfield from his point of view.
