Development and Transition in Mongolia

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na rozvoj Mongolska a tranzitivní procesy, které v zemi probíhají od 90. let 20. století. Cílem práce je charakterizovat a zhodnotit úroveň rozvoje Mongolska v kontextu politické a ekonomické tranzice. Práce je zpracována jako kvalitativní studie s využitím statistických dat. Teoretická část je zaměřena na uchopení pojmů rozvoj a tranzice. Druhá kapitola se zabývá stručnou geografickou charakteristikou Mongolska, součástí je také stručný historický kontext a představení vztahů se sousedními státy. Třetí kapitola popisuje proces politické tranzice od 90. let 20. století do současnosti. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá tranzicí ekonomickou, zejména přijatými reformami. Pátá kapitola se zaměřuje na rozvoj, a to jak na úrovni státu, tak na úrovni provincií. Úroveň rozvoje je hodnocena především na základě ukazatelů HDP a HDI, zohledněn je také udržitelný rozvoj. Výsledek práce poukazuje na úspěšný rozvoj Mongolska v mnoha aspektech.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on development of Mongolia and the transition processes taking place in the country since the 1990s. The aim of the thesis is to characterize and assess the level of development of Mongolia in the context of political and economic transition. The thesis is qualitative study with the use of statistical data. The theoretical part focuses on the concepts of development and transition. The second chapter presents a brief geographical description of the country and includes a brief historical context and an introduction to relations with neighbouring countries. The third chapter describes the process of political transition from the 1990s to the present. The fourth chapter is devoted to the economic transition. The fifth chapter focuses on development, both at the national and provincial levels. The level of development is assessed mainly on the basis of GDP and HDI indicators. Sustainable development is also taken into account. The result of the work shows the successful development of Mongolia in many aspects.
