The use of automated guided vehicles in automotive industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce představí autonomní manipulační techniku (AGV), včetně jejích výhod a specifik. Role autonomní manipulační techniky je převoz materiálu bez obsluhy z místa nakládky do místa vykládky. AGV je rozepsána nejprve obecně a následně je zasazena do výrobní haly automobilového průmyslu (do společnosti Škoda Auto). Cílem bylo rozebrat finanční i nefinanční faktory implementace AGV. Finanční faktory jsou náklady na implementaci spolu s ekonomickou návratností. Mezi nefinanční faktory patří vytíženost strojů, bezpečnost i spolehlivost. Tím dojde k rozborům, za jakých podmínek má smysl AGV nakupovat, investičních kritérií i přínosů AGV pro výrobní firmu. Ze simulací a výpočtů vyplynulo, že AGV představují zajímavou úsporu mzdových nákladů na obsluhu vysokozdvižných, ale hrozí neoptimální volba počtu nasazených strojů, kdy stroje mohou být přetížené nebo nevytížené. K vypracování byla využita dostupná odborná literatury a interní data společnosti Škoda Auto.

Abstract:

This master thesis presents the automated guided vehicles (AGV), including their advantages and specifications. The basic purpose of AGV is to transport material without the driver from loading place to unloading place. Describing the general applications and sectors, AGV is also highlighted as an essential part of automotive car industry (Škoda Auto a.s.). The aim of this master thesis is to analyse financial and non-financial factor of implementing AGV within the company. Financial factors represent costs (p.e. initial, wage) with return of investment. Nonfinancial factors consist of AGV utilisation, safety and reliability. As a result of this, we can made decision whether to invest in new AGV based on investment criteria and existing advantages for specific company. From simulations and calculation, it seems that AGV is an interesting way how to reduce drivers wage (costs) of handling technology. On the other hand, a risk of AGV low utilisation rate or overload can occur, therefore a company should try to find an optimal number of AGV for material delivery. Autor have used the available literature as well as internal data from company Škoda Auto.
