Use of dictation in teaching adults Czech as a foreign language

Abstract:

Tématem práce je charakteristika diktátu a jeho variant jako didaktické aktivity vhodné pro výuku češtiny jako cizího jazyka. Práce uvádí charakteristiku základních dovedností poslechu a porozumění mluvenému slovu, které tradiční diktát rozvíjí. Dále uvádí jeho možné modifikace a kombinace s dalšími aktivitami, které rozšiřují didaktické využití diktátu pro rozvoj dalších komunikačních dovedností. Předkládá důvody pro využití diktátu ve výuce cizích jazyků a upozorňuje na aspekty, jež je třeba před samotným diktátem zvážit.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the characteristics and varieties of dictation, and the ways that it can be used in the teaching of Czech as a foreign language. The study presents characteristics of skills listening and comprehension, the basic skills that traditional dictation develops. It describes possible modifications and combinations with other activities, which expands the educational use of dictation for further communication skills development. It presents reasons for using dictation in the teaching of foreign languages, and highlights the aspects which need to be considered before planning such activities.
