Association between body composition and motor performance in handball

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Vztah mezi tělesným složením a tělesnou výkonností v házené" se zabývá problematikou množství tělesného tuku u hráček házené. Cílem této bakalářské práce je přispět k řešení problematiky související s kvantifikací vztahu mezi tělesným složením a tělesnou výkonností, a to prostřednictvím stanovení míry korelace mezi množstvím tuku a výkonnosti v České házenkářské testové baterii u hráček 2. ligy házené v klubu HK Spartak Ústí nad Labem. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 15 žen, hráček klubu HK Spartak Ústí nad Labem. U tohoto souboru žen byly naměřeny a vypočítány následující hodnoty: průměrná tělesná hmotnost 72,9 +- 10,7 kg, průměrná tělesná výška 170 +- 4,8 cm, % tělesného tuku 28,6 +- 5,0 %. K zjištění hodnot tělesného složení byl použit přístroj Bodystat Quadscan 4000. Výkonnost byla testována pomocí České házenkářské testové baterie. Obsahem zmiňované testové baterie byly výkonnostní testy, které prokázaly úroveň rychlostních, vytrvalostních a silových schopností. Tyto jednotlivé testy byly hodnoceny dle stanovené normy České házenkářské baterie. Z výzkumného šetření bylo zjištěno, že nižšího bodového skóre v České házenkářské testové baterii dosahují hráčky s vyšším procentem tělesného tuku. Dále bylo zjištěno, že existuje věcně významná závislost mezi výkonností v České házenkářské testové baterii a množstvím tělesného tuku. Závislost celkového bodového ohodnocení v České házenkářské baterii na % tělesného tuku, je ovlivněna z 81 %.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis "The relationship between body composition and body performance in handball" deals with the issue of body fat in handball women players. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to contribute to the solution of the problem related to quantification of the relationship between body composition and physical performance, by determining the degree of correlation between the amount of fat and performance in the Czech handball's test battery in women players of the second league handball in the club HK Spartak Ústí nad Labem. The research was attended by 15 women players of the HK Spartak Ústí nad Labem club. For this group of women, the following values were measured and calculated: average body weight 72,9 +- 10,7 kg, average body height 170 +- 4,8 cm, % body fat 28,6 +- 5,0 %. Bodystat Quadscan 4000 was used to determine body composition values. Performance was tested using the Czech handball's battery. The contents of the aforementioned test battery were performance tests that demonstrated the level of speed, endurance and force abilities. These individual tests were evaluated according to the established standard of the Czech handball's test battery. The research survey found that lower score in the Czech handball's test battery achieve by women players with a higher percentage of body fat. Furthermore, it was found that there is a factually significant dependence between performance in the Czech handball's test battery and the amount of body fat. The dependence of the total score in the Czech handball´s battery on % body fat is 81 %.
