Avifauna of the Žichlínek polder in the Moravská Sázava river, Ústí nad Orlicí district

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje vyhodnocení druhové rozmanitosti avifauny na lokalitě poldr Žichlínek, která představuje jeden z nejvýznamnějších revitalizačních projektů v Pardubickém kraji. Cílem práce bylo prostřednictvím terénního průzkumu v roce 2025 zdokumentovat aktuální stav ptačích společenstev a posoudit význam lokality pro hnízdící, migrující a zimující druhy. Během 36 kontrolní dnů bylo metodou kompletních seznamů zaznamenáno celkem 107 druhů ptáků, z nichž u 62 taxonů byly doloženy různé stupně průkaznosti hnízdění. Práce detailně analyzuje strukturu společenstva z hlediska dominance a frekvence výskytu, přičemž výsledky srovnává s historickými daty před výstavbou poldru. Zjištěná data potvrzují, že lokalita plní klíčovou funkci ornitologického refugia v intenzivně využívané zemědělské krajině a hostí řadu zvláště chráněných a ohrožených druhů.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is devoted to the evaluation of the species diversity of the avifauna at the Žichlínek Polder site, which represents one of the most important revitalization projects in the Pardubice Region. The aim of the work was to document the current state of bird communities through a field survey in 2025 and to assess the importance of the site for nesting, migrating and wintering species. During 36 control days, a total of 107 bird species were recorded using the complete list method, of which 62 taxa were documented with varying degrees of nesting evidence. The work analyzes the structure of the community in detail in terms of dominance and frequency of occurrence, while comparing the results with historical data before the construction of the polder. The data obtained confirm that the site fulfills a key function as an ornithological refuge in an intensively used agricultural landscape and hosts a number of specially protected and endangered species.
