Consumer culture and forms of hedonistic lifestyle

Abstract:

První kapitolu diplomové práce jsem věnovala problematice a důsledkům spotřební kultury. Podrobně představuji průběh jejího historického vývoje a nejdůležitějších proměn interpretací a kritiky, a to zejména v západní společnosti. Na základě takto získaných znalostí jsem sestavila řadu doporučení, která mohou přispět k omezení vlivu důsledků jednotlivých změn ve spotřební kultuře na život jedince. Ve druhé části práce se zabývám důsledky hédonistického způsobu života (alternativního a predátorského), sestavením profilů alternativního a predátorského hédonika a popisu reklamy zaměřené na každého z nich. Na základě literární rešerše zahraničních zdrojů podrobně popisuji vývoj hédonismu v evropské společnosti a krátce prozkoumávám učení jiných starověkých zemí, která jsou nějak podobná hédonismu.

Abstract:

The first chapter is devoted to the issue and consequences of consumer culture. The thesis presents a detailed description of consumer culture evolution, especially in Western society, and based on the acquired knowledge about changes in consumer culture a number of recommendations that can help reduce the impact of those changes on an individual's life were made. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the issue and consequences of hedonic lifestyles (alternative and predatory), to the compilation of profiles of alternative and predatory hedonists and to the description of the advertisements that reach out to both of them. Literature research of foreign sources enabled a detailed description of the development of hedonism in European society and a brief review of doctrines of other ancient countries that are similar to hedonism.
