Alternative forms of senior housing in the Czech republic in the years 2013-2015

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou seniorského bydlení v ČR v letech 2013 až 2015. Význam této problematiky a zájem o ni spočívá v tom, že se jedná o jeden z problémů spojených se stárnutím populace nejen u nás, ale i v celé EU. Otázka bydlení seniorů tedy je, a v budoucnu ještě více bude, jednou z důležitých, které bude potřeba řešit. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jestli je alternativní forma seniorského bydlení, především senior cohousing, finančně výhodnější z pohledu veřejných rozpočtů a samotných seniorůnež dosavadní formy bydlení seniorů. Dále také do jaké míry je pro seniory alternativní forma seniorského bydlení akceptovatelná. Pomocí kvalitativní analýzy bylo zjištěno, že senioři úplně nejvíce preferují život ve své vlastní domácnosti, ve které prožili značnou část života. Méně preferují bydlení v ústavech (institucích) a bydlení v senior cohousingu by pro ně do jisté míry bylo vhodnější formou bydlení ve srovnání s bydlením v ústavu. Pomocí sestavených modelových domácností byla provedena komparace finanční výhodnosti vybraného senior cohousingu a vybraného domova pro seniory. Z tohoto srovnání vyplynulo, že senior cohousing je do značné míry drahý v porovnání s bydlením v ústavu pro seniory a velká část seniorských domácností by si jej nemohla dovolit. Z finanční analýzy a srovnání senior cohousingu s ústavem pro seniory také vyplynulo, že z pohledu veřejných rozpočtů je finančně výhodnější dotovat stávající institucionální péči o seniory.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the senior housing in the Czech republic in the years 2013-2015. Importance of this issue and interest in this is in conjuction with population aging in the Czech republic and whole European union. The issue of the senior housing thus is and in the future even more will need to be addressed. The aim of this thesis is to verify if the alternative forms of senior housing especially senior cohousing are more cost-effective in terms of public budgets and seniors finances than existing forms of housing for seniors. The next aim is associated with investigation of the senior acceptance of the alternative forms of senior housing. Via qualitative analysis was found that seniors the most prefer life in their own household. Seniors less prefer living in institucions for seniors. Seniors mark senior cohousing as a better form of housing in relation to living in institucions. Via assembled models of households was made comparison between the financial advantages of the selected senior cohousing and istitution for seniors. From this comparison was found that senior cohousing is largely expensive in relation to living in istitution for seniors. Many senior households probably would not be able to finance senior cohousing in the long term. From the financial analysis and comparison of the senior cohousing and living in homes for seniors was also found that subsidizing homes for elderly is cost-effective in relation to senior cohousing.
