Unproductive Verbs in Textbooks of the Russian Language

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the analysis of the occurrence of unproductive Russian verbs in Russian language textbooks and examines the ways in which these verbs are presented to students. The work is structured into two main parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the thesis addresses Russian verbs, emphasizing their conjugation and classification into productive and unproductive categories. The practical part focuses on the analysis of three Russian language textbook sets designed for the A1 language level, where the presence and integration of unproductive verbs were investigated. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether students are introduced to the concept of unproductive verbs and whether they are made aware of their specifics, whether they are informed about the division of Russian verbs into two conjugation groups, what proportion of exercises for the proper acquisition of verb conjugation, including irregular verbs, the textbooks contain, and whether emphasis is placed on verbal constructions and on ensuring that new knowledge in this area builds on what has already been learned.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu výskytu neproduktivních ruských sloves v učebnicích ruštiny a zkoumá způsoby, jakými jsou tato slovesa prezentována žákům. Práce je strukturovaná do dvou hlavních částí: teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části se práce věnuje ruským slovesům, s důrazem na jejich časování a klasifikaci do produktivních a neproduktivních kategorií. Praktická část se soustředí na analýzu tří učebních komplexů ruského jazyka určených pro jazykovou úroveň A1, ve kterých byla prozkoumána přítomnost a způsob zařazení neproduktivních sloves. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda jsou žáci seznámeni s pojmem neproduktivní slovesa a zda jsou upozorněni na jejich specifika, zda jsou informování o rozdělení ruských sloves do dvou skupin časování, jaké poměrné množství cvičení pro náležité osvojení časování sloves, včetně nepravidelných, učebnice obsahují, a zda je v učebnicích kladen důraz na slovesné vazby a na to, aby nové znalosti z této oblasti navazovaly na již osvojené.
