Changes in the number of audited companies due to the new accounting law

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá novým zákonem o účetnictví a převážně tím, jak ovlivní počet účetních jednotek se zákonnou povinností auditu. Práce se v teoretické části zabývá i dalšími změnami, které podle dosavadních informací nabydou účinnosti k 1. 1. 2025. Dále se práce zabývá srovnáním dosavadních a nových podmínek pro povinný audit v ČR, jakožto i a komparací těchto podmínek s ostatními členskými státy Evropské unie. V praktické části je zkoumáno, jak nové podmínky pro povinný audit ovlivní počet povinně auditovaných společností v České republice. Tento výzkum je proveden za pomoci databáze MagnusWeb, z níž jsou čerpána data o obchodních společnostech za rok 2022. Výsledky výzkumu poukazují na to, že uvolnění podmínek pro povinný audit v ČR v souvislosti s novým zákonem o účetnictví by mohlo vést k zániku povinnosti auditu až u 59 % obchodních společností, které měly povinný audit v roce 2022.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis looks into the new accounting law and mainly how it will affect the number of accounting entities with a duty of statutory audit. In the theoretical part, the work also looks into other changes that, according to the current information, will come into effect on January 1st, 2025. The work also compares current and new conditions for mandatory audit in the Czech Republic, as well as a comparison of these conditions with other member states of the European Union . The practical part examines how the new conditions for mandatory audit will affect the number of mandatorily audited companies in the Czech Republic. This research is carried out with the help of the MagnusWeb database, from which data on business companies for the year 2022 are drawn. The research results point out that the easing of the conditions for mandatory audit in the Czech Republic in connection with the new accounting law could lead to the termination of the audit obligation until in 59% of companies that had a mandatory audit in 2022.
