Current military security threats for the People's Republic of China and their influence on creation of military strategy

Abstract:

Oblast západního Pacifiku představuje jeden z klíčových regionů pro globální bezpečnost. V této oblasti leží zájmy mnoha zainteresovaných států v čele s Čínou a Spojenými státy. V průběhu posledních let pak můžeme sledovat eskalaci konfliktu včetně přímého působení vojenských sil zainteresovaných států v oblasti. Předkládaná bakalářská práce analyzuje sektor vojenské hrozby z perspektivy jednoho z nejdůležitějších aktérů oblasti a nejmocnějšího státu světa – Čínské lidové republiky. Klíčovou metodou práce je případová studie daného fenoménu. Samotný text se zabývá analýzou vybraných aktérů mezinárodního systému jako vojenských hrozeb pro Čínskou lidovou republiku a sleduje hlavní rysy vojenské strategie pro zajištění bezpečnosti proti identifikovaným hrozbám. Důležitou součástí analýzy hrozeb je také vzájemná sekuritizace mezi aktéry v rámci bezpečnostních dokumentů.

Abstract:

The Western Pacific is one of key regions for global security. In this region lie the interests of many countries, led by China and the United States. In recent years, we can watch the escalation of the conflict, including direct military actions by the states involved. The present thesis analyzes the sector of military threats from the perspective of one of the most important actors in the region and one of the most powerful nations in the world - China. The key method of work is a case study of the phenomenon. The text itself analyzes the selected actors of the international system as a military threat to China and follows the main features of the military security strategy against identified threats. An important part of threat analysis is the reciprocal of securitization between actors in the context of security documents.
