In this thesis, I analyse Kurt Vonnegut’s novels Breakfast of Champions, Deadeye Dick, God Bless You, Mr Rosewater, and the play Happy Birthday, Wanda June from the perspective of R. W. Connell’s book Masculinities with its concepts of hegemonic, complicit, subordinate, and marginalised masculinities.
