Education like a risk factor of burnout syndrome among the members of the Prison Service

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je syndrom vyhoření u příslušníků Vězeňské služby České republiky. Hlavním cílem práce je poznat a popsat rizikové faktory napomá-hající vzniku syndromu vyhoření u příslušníků Vězeňské služby České republiky. Konkrétně se zajímám o to, jakou roli hraje v rámci rizikových faktorů úroveň vzdělání příslušníků Vězeňské služby České republiky. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Cílem teoretické části je vymezení zkoumané problematiky a základních pojmů. Součástí teoretické části je tak definice pojmu syndromu vyhoření (burnout syndromu), faktory ovlivňující vznik syndromu vyhoření a možnosti řešení tohoto syndromu. Jádro teoretické části pak tvoří popis syndro-mu vyhoření u „pomáhajících profesí“, s ohledem na téma práce pak u příslušníků Vězeňské služby České republiky. Teoretická část práce je zpracována na základě analýzy, syntézy a komparace informací získaných studiem odborných zdrojů. Cílem praktické části bude zjistit, zda se u příslušníků Vězeňské služby Čes-ké republiky vyskytuje syndrom vyhoření a které rizikové faktory na něho mají vliv. Zejména pak, jakou roli v nich hraje úroveň dosaženého vzdělání příslušníků Vězeňské služby České republiky. Průzkumné šetření bude založeno na kvantita-tivním přístupu. Nástrojem sběru dat bude dotazníkové šetření. Respondenty bu-dou příslušníci Vězeňské služby České republiky vybrané jihomoravské věznice. Získaná data budou analyzována prostřednictvím softwarového nástroje Statistica. Výsledky průzkumného šetření budou prezentovány v podobě grafů a tabulek.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with burnout syndrome of members of Prison Service of Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to identify and describe risk factors related to the burnout syndrome among the members of the Prison Service. In particular, it considers level of education of the prison staff in the context of the risk factors. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines the studied issues and the basic concepts. More precisely, it specifies the burnout syndrome along with the factors influencing the syndrome and suggests the solution to this problem. The core of the theoretical part is to examine the burnout syndrome from the point of view of ”the caring occupation”, specifically the members of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic in respect to the theme of the thesis. The theoretical part is elaborated on the basis of analysis and synthesis of information obtained by studying selected sources. The practical part approaches the experience of the burnout syndrome wi-thin the prison staff and tries to find out the particular risk factors and its influence while the focus is primarily on the role of the level of education of the employees. It is a case study where a quantitative research method provides the data acquired by a questionnaire survey and is further processed by using the Statistica software tool. Respondents are the members of the Prison Service located in a region of South Moravia in the Czech Republic.
