The care of a mentally handicapped individual in a family

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na tématiku mentálního postižení dítěte a vlivů tohoto postižení na rodinné vztahy a zejména na výchovu intaktního sourozence. Rodina je zde představena jako důležité, především socializační, prostředí, do něhož se lidský jedinec rodí, od raného věku v něm funguje a která má na jeho život zásadní vliv. Jedinci narození do rodinného prostředí zároveň taktéž působí na jeho další členy, na své rodiče a sourozence. V případě mentálního postižení je toto působení představeno jako zatěžující, s řadou faktorů, které mohou negativně ovlivňovat vztahy nukleárního rodinného systému, zejména pak ve vztahu k výchově zdravých sourozenců. V teoretické části jsou blíže charakterizovány koncepty rodiny a mentálního postižení, včetně kategorizace tohoto postižení. Praktická část textu obsahuje kazuistiky dvou rodin, jež vychovaly jedince s mentální retardací. Cílem dokumentu je snaha o detekci konkrétních zátěžových faktorů, jimž byly zkoumané rodiny na základě narození mentálně retardovaného dítěte vystaveny a jejich vlivu na výchovu jeho intaktních sourozenců.

Abstract:

This text focuses on the mental disability of a child and the influence this disability has on family relationships, especially on the upbringing of the intact sibling. Here, the family is presented as an important, primarily socializing environment, into which an individual is born, functions in this family from an early age and which has a significant impact on his / her life. Individuals who are born into a family also have an effect on the family's other members, on the parents and on the siblings. In the case of mental disability, this effect is presented as burdensome, with several factors which could have a negative impact on the relationships of the nucleus family system, especially in relation to bringing up the healthy siblings. The theoretical part characterizes the concepts of family and mental disability in detail and also classifies these disabilities. The practical part of the text contains a case study of two families, who have brought up individuals with mental retardation. The aim of this document is to try and detect the specific burdensome factors which the observed families were exposed to base on the birth of a mentally retarded child and its influence on the upbringing of the intact siblings.
