Diplomová práca je zameraná na vývoj nezamestnanosti na Slovensku, v krajinách V4 - teda v Českej republike, Maďarsku a v Poľsku, v porovnaní s priemerom krajín Európskej únie. V prvej kapitole sa zaoberáme teoretickým vymedzením pojmu "nezamestnanosť", príčinami jej vzniku, definujeme jej formy, ktorými sa prejavuje a jej dopady na spoločnosť a jednotlivca.
