Physiotherapy in a Patient with Femoroacetabular Impingement

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na diagnózu nazývanou femoroacetabulární impingement (FAI) a fyzioterapii u jednoho konkrétního pacienta trpícího FAI. Tato práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí a to teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část je dále rozčleněna na obecnou a speciální část. V obecné části se práce zabývá popisem anatomie a kineziologie kyčelního kloubu. To zahrnuje detailní analýzu struktury a funkcí kloubu, včetně jeho kostí, svalů a vazů. A také analýzu pohybu a mechaniky zatížení kloubu, což je zásadní pro chápání problematiky impingementu. Speciální část se zaměřuje na samotnou problematiku femoroacetabulárního impingementu. Probírány jsou zde diagnostické metody, jako jsou klinické testy a zobrazovací techniky, které pomáhají identifikovat tento stav u pacientů. Dále se věnuje dělení impingementu a jejich klinickým projevům a představuje možnosti současně dostupné léčby. Praktická část práce řeší konkrétní kazuistiku pacienta s diagnostikovaným femoroacetabulárním impingementem. Zde je podrobně rozebrána pacientova anamnéza, klinický obraz, diagnostické metody použité k potvrzení diagnózy a následný průběh léčby. Tato část slouží jako praktický příklad aplikace teoretických poznatků a metod v reálném klinickém prostředí. Cílem této práce je poskytnout obecný přehled o FAI, vytvořit krátkodobý a dlouhodobý rehabilitační plán pro pacienta a nakonec zhodnotit výsledky a průběh. Pokud bude možné, tak bude poskytnuto doporučení pro praxi na základě poznatků získaných z teoretické i praktické části práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the diagnosis called femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and physiotherapy in a specific patient suffering from FAI. This work is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is further divided into general and specific sections. In the general part, this thesis deals with the description of the anatomy and kinesiology of the hip joint. This includes a detailed analysis of the structure and functions of the joint, including its bones, muscles, and ligaments. It also analyzes movement of the hip and joint load mechanics, which is crucial for understanding impingement issues. The specific part focuses on the problem of femoroacetabular impingement itself. Diagnostic methods are discussed here, such as clinical tests and imaging techniques that help identify this condition in patients. It also addresses the classification of impingement and its clinical manifestations, and presents the currently available treatment options. The practical part of the thesis addresses the specific case study of a patient diagnosed with femoroacetabular impingement. The patient's history, clinical manifestation, diagnostic methods used to confirm the diagnosis, and subsequent course of treatment are analyzed in detail here. This section serves as a practical example of applying theoretical knowledge and methods in a real clinical setting. The aim of this thesis is to provide a general overview of FAI, create short-term and ong-term rehabilitation plans for the patient, and ultimately evaluate the results and progress. If possible, recommendations for practice will be provided based on the knowledge gained from both the theoretical and practical parts of the thesis.
