Abstract:

Cílem této disertační práce je výzkum hudebnědramatických děl císařského skladatele instrumentální hudby, posléze vicekapelníka a kapelníka Johanna Heinricha Schmelzera (1620/1623–1680), který byl za života i po smrti ceněn primárně jako vynikající instrumentalista. V posledním desetiletí svého života však zkomponoval také několik světských i duchovních hudebnědramatických děl. V textu jsou podrobně zmiňovány serenaty Hercules und Onfale. L’urna della sorte, Le veglie ossequiose a Die sieben Alter stimmen zusammen. Vyjma L’urna della sorte, u níž je k dispozici pouze tištěné libreto, se ke všem serenatám dochovala hudba. V letech 1677–1678 zkomponoval Schmelzer také čtyři sepolkra pro obřady Svatého týdne. Schmelzer byl autorem celkem čtyř sepolker Stärcke der Lieb, L’infinità impicciolita, Thron der Gnaden a Le memorie dolorose, přičemž k Stärcke der Lieb a Le memorie dolorose jsou dochovány partitury; ke všem sepolkrům existují tištěná libreta. Polovinu uvedených prací zkomponoval pro arcivévodkyni Marii Antonii Habsburskou (1669–1692), která díky svému nízkému věku ještě dobře neovládala italský jazyk. Zbylé skladby byly určeny Leopoldu I. Serenaty i sepolkra pro Marii Antonii představují svou jazykovou stránkou v rámci tehdejšího dvora, kulturně jednoznačně orientovaného na Itálii, unikát. Skladatelova duchovní i světská díla vynikají specifickým kompozičním stylem založeným na užití výrazných popěvkových motivů a ponejvíce sylabického zhudebnění textu. Ve světských dílech je patrný také taneční charakter árií. Zatímco k sepolkrům Stärcke der Lieb a Le memorie dolorose existují jejich novodobé edice, serenaty, vyjma Hercules und Onfale, nebyly dosud provedeny ani publikovány. Proto je jednou z hlavních části práce notová edice všech tří dochovaných serenat opatřená ediční zprávou a tabulkou různočtení. Práci lze tedy brát i jako příspěvek k problematice „Aufführungspraxis“ dramatické hudby druhé poloviny 17. století.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to research a specific group of dramatico–musical works by the imperial composer of instrumental music and later Vice–Kapellmeister and Kapellmeister, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer (1620/23–1680). Schmelzer was primarily recognized as an outstanding instrumentalist. However, during the last decade of his life he composed several secular and spiritual dramatico–musical works. This thesis is focused on serenatas Hercules und Onfale, L’urna della sorte, Le veglie ossequiose and Die sieben Alter stimmen zusammen. With the exception of L'urna della sorte, to which only the printed libretto exists, the music of all the serenatas has been preserved. The next subject of research are sepolcri for the Holy Week ceremonies Stärcke der Lieb, L’infinità impicciolita, Thron der Gnaden and Le memorie dolorose composed between 1677–1678. There are scores for Stärcke der Lieb and Le memorie dolorose; printed librettos are preserved for all sepolcri mentioned above. Half of these pieces were composed for Archduchess Maria Antonia Habsburg (1669–1692), who did not speak Italian very well due to her young age. The rest of mentioned works were composed for Leopold I. Schmelzer's two German sepolcri and two serenatas for Maria Antonia were very exceptional in the court in terms of language, as the Imperial court was explicitly Italy-oriented. Schmelzer's typical style, based on the use of tuneful melodic motifs and the syllabic set of the lyrics, is evident in the case of sepolcri and serenatas. In serenatas, these elements also include the dancing character of arias. While there are recent editions of sepolcri Stärcke der Lieb and Le memorie dolorose, the serenatas, with the exception of Hercules und Onfale, have not yet been published or performed. This is why one of the main parts of this thesis is edition of all three preserved serenatas, with an editor's note and variant reading table. The thesis can therefore be considered as a contribution to the field of musical drama of the second half of the 17th century.
