The digestive system concept at primary school pupils

Abstract:

Představy o jakémkoliv jevu, či fenoménu se vyvíjejí od raného věku dítěte vlivem zejména vnějších faktorů. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit představy žáků prvního stupně základní školy o trávicí soustavě a stanovit vliv různých faktorů ovlivňujících úroveň mylných představ o trávicí soustavě. Zejména se zaměřením na konceptuální změnu s ohledem na přechod na druhý stupeň. Respondenty výzkumu představovali žáci prvního i druhého stupně základních škol (n = 193). Výzkumný nástroj byl tvořen třemi částmi. První část tvořily demografické proměnné, druhá část byla zaměřena na vnímání vlastní zranitelnosti. Poslední část byla zaměřena na představy respondentů o trávicí soustavě, které byly identifikovány prostřednictvím dětské kresby. Pro analýzu dat byly využity metody deskriptivní a induktivní statistiky. Žáci pátého ročníku dosáhli nejvyššího skóre, nejnižší skóre bylo dosaženo žáky prvního a devátého ročníku. Slinivka břišní byl nejvíce absentující orgán trávící soustavy v kresbách žáků. Přítomnost lékaře v rodině se projevila jako významný faktor. V závěru jsou navrhnuty možnosti pro implikace do pedagogické praxe.

Abstract:

The concepts about any kind of phenomena are developing from the early age of child with the influence of external factors. The main aim of the diploma thesis was to find out primary school pupils concepts about digestive system, and to determine the effect of different factors. The most important factor is the transition of pupils from the primary to secondary level of elementary schools. The sample size was created by elementary school pupils (n = 193). The research tool was divided into three parts, the first one was focused demographical variables, the second one was focused on the perception of perceived vulnerability. The last part of research tool was focused on the concepts of pupils about digestive system through methods of children's drawings. The methods of descriptive and inductive statistics were used for the data analysis. The 5th grade pupils achieved the highest score, the pupils of 1st and 9th grades achieved the lowest one. The pancreas was the most missing organ in the drawings. The presence of doctor at family of respondents had got significant effect on drawings. The implications for pedagogical practice are suggested in the conclusion.
