Student activities carried out during the final pharmacy practice and students' opinion on its aspects

Abstract:

Rigorózní práce se zabývá závěrečnou lékárenskou praxí, která probíhá na farmaceutických fakultách standardně v rámci posledního ročníku studia. Průzkum v první části mapuje aktivity prováděné studenty během této praxe včetně hodinových dotací aktivit, statisticky je zpracovává a vyhodnocuje. Data byla čerpána ze Záznamníků týdenních aktivit studentů 5. ročníku (rok ukončení studia: jaro 2021) Farmaceutické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity. Vyhodnoceno bylo celkem 132 Záznamníků týdenních aktivit. Hodnocené aktivity v rámci závěrečné lékárenské praxe byly následující: výdejní činnost na recept, volný prodej, magistraliter příprava, zásobovací činnost a přejímka léčiv, kontrolní činnost, konzultační činnost s pacientem a lékařem, konzultace s lékárníkem školitelem, administrativní činnost, další vykonávané od-borné činnosti a samostudium. V druhé části průzkumu bylo realizováno dotazníkové šetření s cílem zjištění názoru studentů na problematiku praxe a budoucího profesního směřování studentů Farmaceutické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity. Data byla získána z dotazníkového šetření mezi studenty Farmaceutické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity, kteří absolvovali praxi (předmět Lékárenská praxe II – 24 týdnů) v akademickém roce 2020/2021 (n=132). Vyplnění dotazníku nebylo povinné, návratnost činila 61,4 % (n=81). Zjišťovalo se, jak praxe ovlivňuje preference budoucího zaměstnání a jaké jsou dané preference, důležitá kritéria pro ideální praxi, názor na povinnost absolvování části praxe v nemocniční lékárně, zda studenti dostávají finanční odměnu během praxe, připravenost na zaměstnání po absolvování praxe, kritéria pro výběr lékárny pro praxi, míra mentorování lékárníkem školitelem, důvody zájmu/nezájmu o zaměstnání v dané lékárně.

Abstract:

The rigorous thesis deals with the final pharmacy practice, which takes place at pharmaceutical faculties as a standard part of the last year of study. The first part maps the activities performed by students during this practice, including the time spent on these activities, statistically processes and evaluates them. The data was obtained from the record of activities (which students referend every week) of 5th-year students (year of graduation: spring 2021) of the Masaryk University Faculty of Pharmacy. A total of 132 weekly activity recorders were evaluated. The evaluated activities under the practice were as follows: dispensation of prescription medicine, over-the-counter sale, magistraliter preparation, supply activity, control activity, consultation activity with the patient and doctor, consultation with the pharmacist trainer, administrative activity, other performed activities and self-study. In the second part of the survey, there is a questionnaire to find out students' opinions on the issue of practice and the future professional direction of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Masaryk University. The data were obtained from a questionnaire survey among students of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Masaryk University who also completed the practice (subject Pharmacy Practice II - 24 weeks) in the academic year 2020/2021 (n=132). Completion of the questionnaire was not mandatory, the return rate was 61.4 % (n=81). It was investigated how practice influences future job preferences and what the preferences are, the criteria of students for ideal practice, opinion on the obligation to complete part of practice in a hospital pharmacy, whether students receive a financial reward during practice, job readiness after practice, criteria for choosing a pharmacy for practice, level of mentoring by the pharmacist during the practice, reasons for interest/disinterest in employment in the pharmacy where practice was absolved.
