Intepretive profile of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli

Anotácia:

Diplomová práce pojednává o italském klavíristovi Artura Benedettiho Michelangeliho z hlediska jeho interpretačního odkazu a životních zkušeností. Popis interpretačního stylu je proveden na základě analýzy nahrávek jeho repertoáru a zjištěných informací o tom, jak tyto záznamy byly přijímány ze strany kritiky. Z blízká je poté rozebírána klavíristova interpretace druhého Chopinového scherza v různých verzích. Dále se práce zabývá jeho odkazem jako pedagoga a zasazuje interpretův profil do kulturního kontextu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli from the point of view of his interpretative art and his life experiences. The description of his interpretative style is made from the analysis of the recordings of his repertoire and from the discovered information about how his interpretations were accepted by the critique. Thereafter different versions of the pianist’s interpretation of the second Chopin scherzo are closely analysed. Moreover, this thesis looks into his legacy as a teacher and inserts his interpretative profile in a cultural context.
