Sustainable Household Consumption

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývala udržitelnou spotřebou domácností se zaměřením na nakládání s potravinami a odpady ve dvou odlišných lokalitách – Praha a okolí a Moravskoslezský kraj. Teoretická část byla věnována představení pojmů udržitelná spotřeba a udržitelná domácnost v oblasti odpadů a potravin. V praktické části byl uskutečněn sběr dat u obyvatel Prahy a okolí a Moravskoslezského kraje. V první části bylo provedeno anketní šetření, které analyzovalo postoj u 171 oslovených respondentů z vybraných lokalit v oblasti nakládání s odpady a jejich třídění a také jejich přístup k nákupu a konzumaci potravin. Ve druhé části bylo realizováno kvalitativní šetření prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se 7 vybranými výzkumnými partnery, jehož cílem bylo detailněji specifikovat přístup k vybraným tematickým oblastem a zjistit, jaké faktory vybrané výzkumné partnery v této problematice ovlivňují. V závěrečné části diplomové práce jsou shrnuta zjištění anketního šetření z oblasti nakládání s odpady a výběrem a konzumací potravin. V následujících polostrukturovaných rozhovorech bylo cílem detailněji rozebrat postoje a motivaci vybraných výzkumných partnerů pomocí otázek, které volně navazovaly na anketní šetření. Následně jsou představena doporučení a návrhy na zlepšení v dané problematice.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is aimed at sustainable household consumption with a focus on food and waste management in two different localities - Prague and its surroundings, and the Moravian-Silesian region. The theoretical part deals with the presentation to the introduction of the concept of sustainable consumption and sustainable household concerning waste and food. The practical part was addressing the population of Prague and its surroundings, and the Moravian-Silesian region. In the first part, a survey, which analyzed the answers of 171 respondents from selected localities in the area of waste management and waste sorting, as well as their approach to the purchase and consumption of food, was conducted. In the second part, a qualitative survey of interviews through semi-structured interviews with seven selected research partners was organized. Its aim was to specify in more detail the approach to selected thematic areas and determine what factors affected selected research partners. The final part of the thesis summarizes the findings of a survey in the field of waste disposal and food consumption preferences. In the following semi-structured interviews, the aim was to analyze the attitudes and motivations of selected research partners using questions that, at large, followed the survey. In conclusion, recommendations and suggestions for improving the related domain are presented.
