Celebritization and Czech Politics

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářské práce se zabývá celebritizací jako novým fenoménem v současné politice. Dnes máme v politice několik celebrit, které se do ní dostaly nikoli skrze stranickou hierarchii, ale cíleně a promyšleně, aby se tím zviditelnily strany a hnutí, které je na své kandidátní listiny nasadily. Jedná se o nový trend, který je patrný nejen v České republice. Proces celebritizace dále ukážeme na příkladu české politiky. V hlavní části práce se zaměříme na případové studie vybraných současných českých celebrit, Martina a Matěje Stropnického.

Abstract:

Submitted bachelor thesis is dealing with the term celebrization which has become a new phenomenon in the contemporary politics. For a couple of years we can see the effort of the political parties to find famous artists, sportsman or scientists and put them on the list of candidates for the elections to attract voters. It has been the new political general drift all around the world and we will bring the clear example of the same party performing in the Czech politics, too. In the main part of the thesis we will deal with two men who entered the politics as the celebrities, Martin and Matěj Stropnický, giving us the clear example of this celebrization proces in the Czech republic.
