Leisure activities in senior age

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá problematiku volnočasových aktivit osob v seniorském věku. Teoretická část představuje vybrané pojmy a témata, které se pojí s problematikou stáří. Je zde definován pojem senior, proces stárnutí a jsou zde zmíněny rozmanité životní změny, se kterými se senioři potýkají. Teoretická část práce dále popisuje různé podoby volnočasových aktivit seniorů, představuje vybrané instituce, které dané aktivity nabízejí a zmiňuje i psychosociální aspekty dopadů daných aktivit na život seniorů. Empirická část pak předkládá výzkumné šetření, které realizovala autorka této práce v rámci její přípravy. Cílem daného výzkumného šetření bylo zjistit jaký benefit poskytují volnočasové aktivity seniorům a jaká je spokojenost seniorů s nabídkou organizovaných volnočasových aktivit. Daný výzkum má kvalitativní design. Výzkumná data byla získána metodou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, metodou životního příběhu a metodou terénních poznámek výzkumníka. Uvedená výzkumná data byla zpracována tematickou analýzou a byla představena narativní cestou.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines the issue of leisure activities of senior citizens. The theoretical part presents selected terms and topics related to the issue of old age. The term senior, the aging process is defined here and the various life changes that seniors face are mentioned here. The theoretical part of the work further describes various forms of leisure activities of seniors, presents selected institutions that offer these activities and also mentions the psychosocial aspects of the impact of these activities on the lives of seniors. The empirical part then presents the research conducted by the author of this thesis as part of its preparation. The aim of this research was to find out what benefit leisure activities provide to seniors and how satisfied seniors are with the offer of organized leisure activities. The given research has a qualitative design. Research data were obtained using semi-structured interviews, a life story method, and the researcher's field notes method. The stated research data was processed by thematic analysis and was presented in a narrative way.
