Soil moisture assessment on sites of anti-erosion measures with tree plantations in the context of intensively managed landscapes

Abstract:

Zatravněné liniové prvky s výsadbou dřevin jsou na sklonitých pozemcích orné půdy účinným nástrojem ke snížení erozní ohroženosti zemědělských pozemků. Výzkum vývoje půdní vlhkosti během jedné vegetační sezóny v intenzivně produkčních oblastech na transektech orné půdy nad protierozním, pod protierozním opatřením a protierozního opatření byl výzkumem této diplomové práce. Měření půdní vlhkosti bylo prováděno v období březen–říjen ve 14denních interva-lech pomocí metody Electric impedance spectrometry (EIS). Rovněž byly provedeny analýzy půd na zájmových lokalitách. Výsledky výzkumu ukázaly, že nižší vlhkost půdy se vyskytovala na stanovišti s protierozním opatřením oproti stano-vištím s ornou půdou poté, co byla hlavní plodina sklizena. Z těchto výsledků vyplývá, že hlavním faktorem moderující vlhkost půdy mezi zájmovými lokalitami byla transpirace vody rostlinami. Z výsledků lze dále vyvodit, v předpokladu s ostatními výzkumy, že protierozní opatření mají vyšší schopnost infiltrace díky preferenčním tokům vodního proudění.

Abstract:

Grassy linear elements with tree planting are an effective tool for reducing the erosion risk of agricultural land on sloping arable land. The research on the deve-lopment of soil moisture during one vegetation season in intensively productive areas on transects of arable land above anti-erosion measures, below anti-erosion measures, and anti-erosion measures themselves was conducted as part of this thesis. Soil moisture was measured in 14day intervals using Electric impedance spectrometry (EIS) from March to October. Soil analyses were also carried out at the study sites. The research results showed that lower soil moisture occurred at the site with anti-erosion measures compared to sites with arable land after the main crop was harvested. These results suggest that the main factor moderating soil moisture between study sites was plant water transpiration. Furthermore, it can be inferred from the results, assuming other research, that anti-erosion measures have a higher infiltration capacity due to preferential water flow pathways.
