Deterministic models and identification of their parameters

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se věnuje popisu metod sloužících k identifikaci para- metrů vybraných deterministických modelů. Skládá se z pěti kapitol. V první kapitole se čtenář může seznámit s elementárními pojmy z oblasti matematic- kého modelování, simulace a deterministických modelů. Ve druhé kapitole jsou popsány základní modely populací. Konkrétně modely růstu izolované populace a jejich vlastnosti, dále jsou představeny modely popisující vzájemně interagu- jící populace. Ve třetí kapitole se věnuji identifikaci parametrů – některým programovým možnostem dnešní doby sloužícím k identifikaci parametrů a na konkrétních příkladech je demonstrováno praktické použití těchto softwarů. Ob- sahem čtvrté kapitoly jsou dvě obsáhlé simulační studie týkající se speciálních typů modelu typu dravec–kořist a jedna menší simulace, která se také věnuje modelu dravec–kořist. V závěru jsou diskutovány otázky, které jsme si kladli na začátku a k jejichž zodpovězení nám pomohly výsledky simulačních studií.

Abstract:

This dissertation is devoted to description of the methods used to identify parameters selected deterministic models. It consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the reader may be familiar with elementary concepts of mathematical modeling, simulation and deterministic models. The second chapter describes the basic populations models. Namely growth model of isolated population and their properties, below are presented models describing interacting populations. The third chapter deals with identification of parameters – some programming options serving to identify the parameters and on concrete examples is demonstrated the practical use of this software. The content of fourth chapter are two comprehensive studies on the predator–prey model and one smaller simulation, which also deals with a predator–prey model. In conclusion, the questions that we asked at the beginning are answered, thanks to the results of simulation studies.
