Proposal of the most suitable silvicultural measures to improvement of water balance of stands of various structures

Abstract:

Klimatická změna vyvolala v minulých letech rozpad lesů v České republice. Se související klimatickou změnou jsou porosty ohrožovány nejvíce nedostatkem srážek ve vegetačním období. Cílem této práce je zpracovat literární přehled o vodní bilanci a následně sběr a vyhodnocení dat jednotlivých složek vodní bilance a dendrometrických veličin dubového porostu na území Školního lesního podniku Masarykův les Křtiny. Ze složek vodní bilance byla shromažďována data o srážkách z volné plochy, podkorunových srážkách, intercepci, stoku vody po kmeni a transpiraci vybraných jedinců dubu zimního (Quercus petraea Matt. Liebl.), a následně přepočtena na celý porost. Z dendrometrických veličin byla zjišťována výška stromu, obvod kmene, výška nasazení koruny stromu, projekce koruny a LAI celého porostu. Zároveň proběhlo statistické hodnocení dat vodní bilance s dendrometrickými veličinami. Z výsledků je zřejmé, že v roce 2019 celkové srážky z volné plochy byly v porovnání se srážkovým normálem z let 1961–1990 svým množstvím nadprůměrné. Avšak přes letní období byly srážky z volné plochy velmi podprůměrné ve srovnání se srážkovým normálem. Dále z našich výsledků vyplývá, že na stok vody po kmeni má největší vliv projekce korun. Celková vodní bilance zkoumaného porostu vyšla negativně, jelikož atmosférické srážky svým množstvím nedokáží pokrýt ztrátové položky vodní bilance (intercepci a transpiraci).

Abstract:

In recent years, climate change has caused the decay of forests in the Czech Republic. With related climate change, stands are endangered by lack of precipitation in the growing season. The aim of this work is to elaborate a literary overview of water balance and then to collect and evaluated data of individual components of water balance and dendrometric parameters of oak stand in Training Forest Enterprise Masaryk Forest Křtiny. We have collected data about precipitation of open area, through-crown precipitation, interception, water flow throuht the stem and transpiration of selected individuals of oak (Quercus petraea Matt. Liebl.) and then we recalculated the entire stand. We measured the tree height, circumference of breast height, height of tree crown deployment, crown projection and LAI of the whole stand. At the same time, statistical evaluation of data of water balance with dendrometric quantities was performed. In 2019, the total precipitation of open area was above average in comparison with the precipitation standard from 1961-1990 according to our results. However, precipitation of open area was below average compared to the precipitation standard over the summer season. Furthermore, our results show that crown projection has the greatest impact on water flow throuht the stem. The total water balance of our stand was negative, because the amount of atmospheric precipitation could not cover the loss individual of water balance (interception and transpiration).
