Lexical and phraseological tools of emotionality and expressivity demonstrated in the novel "Adler und Engel" by Juli Zeh and its Czech translation "Orli a andělé"

Abstract:

Following diploma thesis deals with the lexical and phraseological tools of emotionality and expressivity demonstrated in the novel “Adler und Engel” and its Czech translation “Orli a andělé” by the German female author Juli Zeh. The thesis contains two main parts – a theoretical and a practical part. The first part is characterized and categorized by the individual emotions. Within this, the term of expressivity is also defined. An important aspect of this part is the integrated summary presented by the tools of linguistic styles, phraseology, metaphors and idioms. The final chapter of the theoretical part introduces the theory of its translation and translation processes. The practical part analyses the emotions and their expression in both versions of the novel. The translation of the original German version will be examined in this part as well.

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá lexikálními a frazeologickými prostředky, jež se týkají emocionality a expresivity v románu „Adler und Engel“ od německé autorky Juli Zeh a jeho českém překladu „Orli a andělé“. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí – teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části jsou charakterizovány a klasifikovány jednotlivé emoce. Rovněž je zde definován pojem expresivita. Důležitou součástí je ucelený přehled týkající se jazykově stylistických prostředků, frazeologismů, metafor a idiomů. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je věnována úvodu do překladu a překladatelským postupům. Praktickou část tvoří analýza emocí a jejich expresivních vyjádření v obou verzích románu. V této části je rovněž zkoumán překlad německého originálu.
