Automated testing of multiplatform mobile applications

Abstract:

Předmětem této práce je vytvoření pipeline pro sestavování aplikace, spouštění automatických testů a získání praktický znalostí, které budou použitelné i v reálném pracovním prostředí. Úvodní část práce obecně popisuje teoretický základ dělení mobilních aplikací. Následuje popis několika frameworků, z niž jeden (Xamarin Forms) je vybrán pro samotnou implementaci řešení. Praktická část popisuje samotnou tvorbu aplikace a testů, zabývá se také praktickými problémy, na které lze při uvedené tvorbě narazit. V závěru práce dochází kromě vyhodnocení splnění cílů také ke zhodnocení výsledné použitelnosti zvoleného frameworku.

Abstract:

The subject of this thesis is to create a pipeline for building an application, running automated tests and gaining practical knowledge that will be applicable in a real working environment. The introductory part of the thesis describes the theoretical basis of mobile application development in general. This is followed by a description of several frameworks, one of which (Xamarin Forms) is chosen for the actual implementation of the solution. The practical part describes the actual creation of the application and the tests, and also deals with practical problems that can be encountered during said creation. In addition to evaluating the achievement of the objectives, the thesis concludes with an evaluation of the resulting usability of the chosen framework.
