Design and implementation of data architecture and visualization of monitoring processes data

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je návrh databázového a vizualizačního řešení za účelem sledování interních datových procesů (nebo také tzv. jobů) pro mezinárodní farmaceutickou společnost. Výsledný návrh bude sloužit jako koncept pro řešení v současné době neuspokojivého stavu v této oblasti. Praktická část této práce je vytvářena s důrazem na reálné využití. Výsledný návrh je tak možné implementovat a využít jako řešení uvedené problematiky v praxi.Přínosem této práce je aktuálně chybějící návrh komplexního řešení v oblasti vizualizace datových procesů pro farmaceutickou společnost. Významným dílčím přínosem je rovněž návrh vlastní vizualizace a její začlenění na webu komunity Qlik Branch, který poskytuje rozšíření pro nástroj Qlik Sense.Návrh celého řešení je vytvořen na základě studia dostupné literatury, která se vztahuje k oblastem Business Intelligence (dále také BI), databázového modelování, datových procesů ve firemním prostředí, autorových znalostí nabytých z vysokoškolského studia a kurzů v tomto oboru, z požadavků získaných na základě kvalitativního výzkumu a v neposlední řadě i ze zkušeností z autorovy praxe.Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část obsahuje shrnutí aktuálních poznatků z oblastí, kterých se práce dotýká. Součástí první části je i definice a vymezení problematiky řešené situace a limity, které představují podmínky nastavené firemním prostředím.Na základě první části pak druhá část obsahuje vlastní řešení za použití zvolených databázových a BI nástrojů a konkrétních metodik a zvolených přístupů. V závěru práce je pak obsaženo zhodnocení řešení a návrhy na další vylepšení výsledného reportu.

Abstract:

Main goal of this master thesis is to design a database and visualization solution to track internal data processes (or jobs) for an international pharmaceutical company. The resulting proposal will serve as a concept for future solution of currently unsatisfactory situation in this area. However, the practical part of this work is created with an emphasis on real use. The resulting proposal can be implemented and used as a solution to the problem in practice.The benefit of this thesis is the currently missing proposal of a comprehensive solution in the field of visualization of data processes for the pharmaceutical company. An important partial goal and benefit is also design of your own visualization and its integration into the Qlik Branch community site which provides an extension for Qlik Sense.The actual design of this solution is based on the study of available literature covering Business Intelligence (BI), database modeling, data processes in the corporate environment, knowledge of the university studies and courses in the field, requirements obtained through qualitative research and last but not least from experience from the author's practice.The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part contains a summary of current knowledge from the areas affected by the work. Part of the first part is also the definition of the problem solved, and the limits that are the conditions set by the corporate environment.On the basis of the first part, the second part contains its own solution using selected database and BI tools and specific methodologies and selected approaches. At the end of the thesis is included evaluation of the solution and achievement of the goal.
