The thesis presented is concerned about possibilities and options of tonal system studying and conceptualisation in the context of changing paradigm in music theory. The thesis shows a variety of views in czech modal theory of music in the 20th century and defines a criteria of systemic change, with accordance to general systems theory and contemporary music theory.
