Social intelligence of dogs and their perception

Abstract:

Diplomová práce ,,Sociální inteligence psů a jejich vnímání“ navazuje na bakalářskou práci ,,Výstavy psů“. Teoretická část je rešerší literatury, kde jsou shrnuty základní rozdíly v historii, tělesné stavbě a povaze testovaných plemen. Dále obsahuje rozdělení druhů psí inteligence a zařazení testovaných psů dle FCI. V praktické části jde o rozšíření výzkumu testování jedné části psí inteligence, doplněný o další dvě skupiny plemen psů. V další části výzkumu je testována socializace těchto psů formou dotazníku od jejich majitelů. V poslední části výzkumu jsou zjišťovány dětské znalosti a prekoncepce o psech. Didaktická část zahrnuje vytvořenou modelovou hodinu, která má za úkol odstraňovat zjištěné dětské prekoncepce. V poslední řadě obsahuje didaktická část upravený test ke zjištění míry socializace dalších psů pro jiné majitele.

Abstract:

The master´s thesis ,,Social intelligence of dogs and their perception" follows the bachelor´s thesis ,,Dog shows“. The theoretical part is a literature review summarizing the basic differences in history, body structure and character of the tested breeds. It also includes the division of types of dog´s intelligence and the rank of the tested dogs according to FCI. The practical part includes three pieces of research. Firstly, the research on testing one part of a dog´s intelligence, has been extended by adding two more dog breeds. The second part of the research focused on the dog´s socialization, using questionnaires for their owner as the research method. Children´s knowledge and preconceptions about dogs are analyzed in the last part of the research. Concerning the didactic part, a model lesson aimed at removing the identified child´s preconceptions was prepared. Finally, the didactic part includes a modified test, designed for dog owners, which serves to determine the level of socialization of different dogs.
