Creation of a street tree row on the example of Prague 6

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tvorbou uličních stromořadí ve městech, konkrétně na území městské části Praha 6. V souvislosti s klimatickou změnou, která v posledních letech zrychluje, jsou stromy v ulicích měst stále větším tématem. Je to dáno funkcemi, které v těchto lokalitách přinášejí. Práce má za cíl zjistit, jaké taxony stromů jsou vhodné pro městskou výsadbu, dále pak popsat proces, vedoucí k nové výsadbě, a popsat možnosti zlepšování podmínek stávajících výsadeb (nejen) uličních stromořadí. Dělena je tedy do několika částí, přičemž v rešeršní části se zabývá významem stromů ve městech, výsadbou v městských podmínkách, výběrem vhodného druhu a městskými stanovištními podmínkami. Výsledky pak popisují procesy, které na Praze 6 k výsadbě vedou, dále pak zastoupení taxonů na této městské části a opatření, jimiž se tato MČ snaží zlepšovat stanovištní podmínky výsadeb. V závěru práce jsou pak diskutována tato zjištění s informacemi, získanými z literatury.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of street tree rows in cities, specifically in the territory of the Prague 6 district. In connection with climate change, which has been accelerating in recent years, trees in city streets are an increasingly important topic. This is due to the functions they bring in these locations. The aim of the thesis is to find out which taxons of trees are suitable for urban planting, then to describe the process leading to new planting, and to describe the possibilities of improving the conditions of existing plantings (not only) street tree rows. It is therefore divided into several parts, while the research part deals with the importance of trees in cities, planting in urban conditions, choosing a suitable species and urban habitat conditions. The results then describe the processes that lead to planting in Prague 6, as well as the representation of taxons in this part of the city and the measures by which this municipality tries to improve the habitat conditions of the plantings. At the end of the thesis, these findings are discussed with information obtained from the literature.
