Prototype of particle detector data visualization component

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o tvorbě komponenty pro vizualizaci dat z částicových detektorů. Hlavním požadavkem na tuto komponentu je zpracování výstupních dat z částicových detektorů a vizualizovat je ve 2D a 3D podobě. Nejdříve bylo potřeba prozkoumat strukturu, význam a vizualizačních metody objemových dat ve 2D i 3D. Na základě této analýzy byla navrženy vizualizační komponenty pro obě dimenze, které byly následně implementovány.Kromě samotné komponenty byla vytvořena i demontrativní aplikace ukazující práci s touto komponentou. Dále je v práci popsáno, jak komponenta funguje a jak ji používat, společně s uživatelským testováním zadavetelem práce.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of a component for the visualization of particle detector data. The main requirement for this component is to process the output data from particle detectors and visualize it in 2D and 3D form. In the first part, the thesis focuses on the structure, meaning and visualization methods of the volumetric data in 2D and 3D. Based on this analysis, visualization components for both dimensions were designed and subsequently implemented. In addition to the component itself, a demonstration application was created to show how to work with the component. The second part of the thesis describes how the component works and how to use it, together with user testing by the thesis commissioner.
