The impact of immigration on the labour market in the United States of America

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou dopadu imigrace na trh práce ve Spojených státech amerických. Nejčastěji řešené oblasti v rámci zkoumání dopadu imigrace na pracovním trhu hostitelské země jsou zaměstnanost a mzdy rodilých pracovníků. Spojené státy americké, jakožto národ přistěhovalců, již čelí několik desetiletí případným obavám z imigrace. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V první kapitole je představen významný fenomén migrace v teoretické rovině. Druhá kapitola se již přímo věnuje imigraci v kontextu Spojených států amerických. Poslední kapitola analyzuje možné dopady imigrace na zaměstnanost a mzdy rodilých Američanů.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines the issue of the impact of immigration on the labour market in the United States of America. The most frequently addressed areas in examining the impact of immigration on the host country's labour market are employment and wages of native workers. The United States of America, as a nation founded on immigration, has been facing the possible concerns about immigration for decades now. The thesis is subdivided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces an important phenomenon of migration at the theoretical level. The second chapter directly deals with immigration in the context of the United States of America. The last chapter analyses the possible consequences of immigration on employment and wages of native American citizens.
