State Terrorism of Serbia under the Regime of Slobodan Milosevic

Abstract:

Text analyzuje fenomén „státního terorismu“ Srbska za režimu Slobodana Miloševiće, a to jako součást domácí a/nebo zahraniční politiky. V případě domácího terorismu je pozornost zaměřená na represivní činnost státních institucí vůči politické opozici a etnickým menšinám se zvláštním akcentem na Kosovo, jako oddělný případ. Druhou pozorovanou oblasti je mezinárodní dimenze a účast struktur tajné služby ministerstva vnitra Srbska a Jugoslávské armády v teroristických aktivitách v ozbrojených konfliktech v Chorvatsku a v Bosně a Hercegovině. Autor se pokouší dokázat, že státem kontrolovaný terorismus nebyl v případě Srbska politikou, ale „pouze“ politickým prostředkem k naplnění politických cílů a k udržení se u moci vládnoucí politické elity.

Abstract:

Text Analysis: The phenomena of `State Terrorism' during the regime of Slobodan Milosevic, and that as a part of domestic and foreign policy. Firstly; in the case of domestic-grown terrorism, the emphasis is on the suppressive acts of state institutions in Yugoslavia towards political opposition and ethnic minority groups, with a special focus on Kosovo as a political case. Secondly; the extent of international participation in regards to the internal department of the Serbian secret service and Yugoslavian army, and their terrorist activities in armed conflicts in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The author tries to prove that the terrorism controlled by the state in some cases wasn't Serbian politics, but simply a political tool to reach political goals and to stay in the reigning political elite.
