Hejny method of teaching mathematics and its social aspect

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Hejného metoda výuky matematiky a její sociální aspekt“ si snaží najít přesah dané metody za hranice matematických znalostí a schopností. Autor se v teoretické části zabývá konstruktivismem, jeho stručnou historií a jeho pronikáním do pedagogiky. Teoretická část dále popisuje Hejného metodu, alternativní metodu výuky matematiky, která je značně ovlivněna průnikem konstruktivismu do pedagogiky. Ve výzkumné části autor zkoumá klíčová témata, která vyplynula z teoretické části. Proces výzkumu byl explorační, pro sběr dat byl použit strukturovaný rozhovor s otevřenými otázkami, pro analýzu dat pak byla použita rámcová analýza. Sondováním klíčových témat se pak autor snaží najít pojítka mezi aplikací principů Hejného metody v praxi a sociálními aspekty vývoje žáka. Autor dále uvažuje nad možnostmi rozšíření výzkumu do budoucnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis „Hejny method of teaching mathematics and its social aspect“ is trying to find an overlap of the method beyond the area of mathematical knowladge and abilities. In the theoretical part the author describes constructivism its summarized history and its influence on pedagogy. Further the theoretical part describes Hejny method, an alternative method of teaching mathematics which is considerably affected by the influence of constructivism on pedagogy. In the research part the author investigates the key themes that emerged from the theoretical part. The process of the research was exploratory, structured interview with open-ended questions was used for data gathering and the framework analysis was used for the data analysis. By probing the key themes the author tried to find links between the aplication of Hejny method principles in practise and the social aspects in the developement of the pupil. The author then reflects on the options of the further research.
