The linquistic usage of the loanwords in the area of orthographic variants (based on journalistic texts material)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá adaptací přejatých slov do českého jazyka s omezením na problematiku psaní s/z, a to na základě materiálů publicistických textů. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. V první části se podíváme na vývoj Pravidel českého pravopisu a na kritiku nejnovějších Pravidel vydaných po roce 1993, kdy do českého jazyka přibyla řada nových pravopisných změn. Právě vydání nových Pravidel vyvolalo diskusi mezi českými lingvisty. Jejich názory na nová Pravidla uvádí jedna z kapitol. Lingvisté rozporuplnou situaci vyřešili v roce 1994 vydáním tzv. Dodatku k Pravidlům. Ten vedle psané podoby se z dovolil i původní psanou variantu se s, tj. dublety. Dále se podíváme, co uvádějí o pravopisu přejatých slov jazykové příručky. Praktická část se zabývá zkoumáním dublet s problematikou psaní s/z na datech Českého národního korpusu (v korpusech SYN2013Pub a v SYN2015). Cílem práce je zjistit hodnotu frekvence výskytu dubletních podob slov a stanovit tak vývojovou tendenci v této pravopisné oblasti české publicistiky.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the adaptation of loanwords into the Czech language limited to the problematics of writing s/z, based on the journalistic text materials. This work consists of theoretical and practical part. In the first part we will focus on the development of the Czech Spelling Rules and the criticism of the latest Rules published after 1993, when number of new spelling changes were added to the Czech language. It was the publication of the new Rules that lead to a discussion about where to write s/z amongst the Czech linguists. Their opinions are provided in one of the chapters. Linguists have solved the contradictory situation by issuing so-called Supplement to the Rules in 1994. This Supplement, in addition to the written form with z, allows also the original written variant with s, i.e. doublets. Then we will have a look at what language handbooks say about the loanwords spelling. The practical part deals with the research of doublets with s/z writing based on the Czech National Corpus data (in corpus SYN2013Pub and SYN2015). The aim of this work is to find out the frequency values of those duplicate words and to determine the development tendency in this spelling field in Czech journalism.
