Analysis of specific cultural event and its impact on the city of Strakonice

Abstract:

Předložená práce se zabývá analýzou kulturní akce a jejím dopadem na město, ve kterém se daná událost koná. Práci tvoří teoretická část, ve které jsou definovány základní pojmy a popsány dopady kulturní akce na město. V praktické části je představeno město Strakonice, které je hostitelem dudáckého festivalu. Dále jsou zmíněny významné akce, které se ve Strakonicích konají. V rámci nich se analyzuje návštěvnost města. V další části této práce, věnované mezinárodnímu dudáckému festivalu, je představena bohatá dudácká tradice, která stojí za samotným festivalem a podrobně je zde popsán i celý festival včetně jeho dopadů ekonomických, sociálních a dopadů na image a identitu města. Součástí práce je dotazníkové šetření. Na základě vyhodnocení odpovědí respondentů jsou v závěru této práce navrhnuta opatření směřující ke zlepšení realizace příštích ročníků mezinárodního dudáckého festivalu.

Abstract:

This work deals with the analysis of the culture events and its impact on the city, where the event takes place. The work contains of two parts - theoretical and practical. Theoretical part concerns with defining the basic terms and depicting the impacts of a culture event on a city. The practical part introduces the city of Strakonice, where The International Bagpipe Festival is held. However The International Bagpipe Festival is the most significant event in the thesis, other events taking place in Strakonice are portrayed as well. All of them are analysed from the view of attendance the city. The next part of the thesis is dedicated to The International Bagpipe Festival itself. The festival is introduced as well as the long-standing tradition of bagpipe, which contributed to estabilishing the festival in Strakonice. In addition variety of economic or social impacts on Strakonice are described in detail. Additionaly the impact on the city itself, its identity and image are elaborately examined.At last the questionnaire surrvey is supplemented. Suggestions for the improvement in organizing The International Bagpipe Festival in the next years are given according to the answers of the respondents.
