The future of collaborative economy in tourism - barriers, opportunities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou budoucnosti kolaborativní ekonomiky v cestovním ruchu, jejích bariér a příležitostí. Cílem je identifikovat znalost respondentů o kolaborativní ekonomice v cestovním ruchu, případně dotazované s tímto pojmem alespoň seznámit a následně zjistit, jak na vzorek respondentů působí platforma Airbnb. Dle kvantitativního výzkumu za pomoci dotazníkového šetření bylo zjištěno, že téměř nikdo z dotazovaných pojem kolaborativní ekonomika nezná, a proto byli následně seznámeni se zjednodušenou definicí. Platforma Airbnb na respondenty působí vcelku pozitivně. Měla by se Česká republika inspirovat Německem v oblasti regulací společnosti Airbnb? Komparace odlišností prokázala, že ano, ale pouze do určité míry. Minimálně 30 % respondentů využívá méně než v minulosti platformu Airbnb pro krátkodobý pobyt z důvodu různých negativních dopadů, tato hypotéza v práci nebyla potvrzena.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the future of collaborative economy in tourism, its barriers and opportunities. The aim is to identify the respondents' knowledge of the collaborative economy in tourism, or, alternatively, at least to familiarize the respondents with the concept, and then to find out how the Airbnb platform affects the sample of respondents. According to the quantitative research using a questionnaire survey, it was found that almost none of the respondents were familiar with the concept of collaborative economy and therefore they were subsequently introduced to a simplified definition. The Airbnb platform has an overall positive impact on the respondents. Should the Czech Republic take inspiration from Germany in the area of Airbnb regulation? The comparison of differences showed that it should, however only to a certain extent. At least 30 % of respondents use the Airbnb platform less in the past for short stays due to various negative impacts, this hypothesis was not confirmed in the thesis.
