Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce „Výuka konverzace ve třídách specializovaných na angličtinu pro zvláštní účely“ je vytvořit soubor komunikačních aktivit zaměřených na výuku v těchto hodinách a dále zjistit, zda využití těchto materiálů ve výuce anglického jazyka vede ke schopnosti studentů pružně reagovat v běžných konverzačních situacích spojených s oblastí hotelnictví a turismu. V teoretické části práce pojednává o základních aspektech výuky konverzace v anglickém jazyce, nastiňuje základní metodologické přístupy k výuce anglického jazyky se zvláštním důrazem na komunikativní přístup. V závěru teoretické části jsou rozebrána specifika výuky konverzace v anglickém jazyce ve třídách specializovaných na angličtinu pro zvláštní účely. Praktická část dále odpovídá na otázky, zda použití aktivit speciálně vytvořených pro skupiny zaměřené na výuku angličtiny pro zvláštní účely vede ke zvýšení plynulosti konverzace, k vyšší motivaci studentů na participaci v hodinách a při přípravě mimo hodiny a zda poskytuje studentům dostatečnou možnost využít specifickou slovní zásobu v simulovaných každodenních situacích spojených s jejich oborem.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis “Teaching Speaking in ESP Classrooms“ is to design a set of conversational activities targeted at ESP classes, as well as to find out whether the use of such materials can result in ability to flexibly react in common everyday conversational situations connected to hotel keeeping and tourism. In the theoretical part, basic aspects of teaching and learning speaking in foreign language classes are described and basic methodological approaches are introduced with a special concern on Communicative Language Teaching. The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on specifics of teaching speaking in ESP classes. The practical part further answers the questions whether the use of activities tailored to fit the needs of ESP classroom can lead to development of speaking fluency and higher students‘ motivation to participation in the lessons and home preparation. The question whether the activities provide students with enough opportunities to activate specific vocabulary in simulated everyday situations related to their study programme is also answered.
