Fathers´ Presence at Childbirth from the Perspective of Women in Labour

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou přítomnosti otců u porodu. Teoretická část popisuje porodní proces, psychologii porodu, historii porodnictví od 19. století, význam přípravy na porod a pozitivní i negativní stránku přítomnosti muže na porodním sále. Hlavním cílem praktické části je zjistit, jaký mají rodičky názor na přítomnost partnera u porodu, a k jeho dosažení byla zvolena metoda kvantitativního výzkumu formou dotazníku, který je určen ženám po vaginálním porodu, jejichž partner byl u něj přítomen.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis assesses the problem of a presence of fathers during childbirth. The theoretical part describes the birth process, the psychology of childbirth, the history of obstetrics from the 19th century, the importance of preparation for childbirth and the positive and negative side of the men´s presence in the delivery room. The main objective of the practical part is to find out the opinion of the women in labour on the presence of a partner during childbirth and to achieve it, a method of quantitative research has been chosen in the form of a questionnaire focusing on women after vaginal childbirth, with a partner present.
