Nitrifikace je jedním z významných procesů koloběhu dusíku v přírodě, při němž je amoniak převáděn na dusitan a poté na dusičnan specializovanými mikroorganizmy. Nitrification – the microbiologically catalysed transformation of ammonia to nitrate via nitrite – is an important part of the global nitrogen cycle. It was observed that this process is very sensitive to the influence of chemicals and environmental pollutants, such as persistent organic pollutants.
